Mary Zimmerman’s The Secret in the Wings adapts a group of lesser-known fairy tales to create a theatrical work that sets their dark mystery against her signature wit and humor. The framing story features a child and the frightening babysitter with whom her parents leave her. As the babysitter reads from a book, the characters in each of the tales materialize, with each tale averting disaster just as it looms, giving way to the next one. 

The Department of Theatre & Dance at Gustavus Adolphus College is offering a theatre day (afternoon) for high school students (grades 9-12). Students may choose from a variety of workshops taught by theatre faculty. Students will receive a free dinner on campus and a free ticket to that evening’s performance of The Secret in the Wings by Mary Zimmerman.

This late-night community event will include LIVE gospel music, some yard games, reflection crafts, prayer of course, and CULVER'S CUSTARD! This is a great chance to engage with the Cru community and to meet new friends. Invite your friends and come enjoy a night of music, games, and a sweet treat!
